The new AccuBlock™ Mini compact dry bath combines digital control, a fast heating microtube block and a convenient AccuRack™ transfer system, all in an ultra compact footprint. With a temperature range to 100° C (which can be set in increments of 0.1° C) Labnet's AccuBlock™ Mini is suitable for a range of uses in: life science, molecular biology, environmental and industrial laboratories and a variety of applications including: incubation, enzyme reactions, and immuno-assays. The small form factor allows it to find a place on even the most crowded laboratory benchtop and it is easy to transport.

The heating element is controlled by a microprocessor to provide precise and accurate control of the block temperature. The temperature is easily set in 0.1°C increments, using the soft touch buttons while values are shown on the easy to read 4-digit-LCD display. A digital timer allows for continuous or timed operation, and an audible signal alerts when a timed application is complete. A built-in calibration mode allows end users to calibrate the bath as needed.

The precision-machined aluminum block quickly reaches the set temperature and facilitates efficient transfer of heat to samples. The integral block accepts up to 12 x 1.5 mL tapered microcentrifuge tubes; there is also a thermometer well for temperature confirmation and calibration. The top surface of the block is covered to protect users from the hot block surface while the block itself is anodized to impart corrosion-resistance.

The included AccuRack™ is designed to allow quick loading or unloading of all sample tubes simultaneously, thus improving efficiency. The rack fits conveniently onto the top of the unit and does not interfere with sample tube fitting. The AccuRack™ is self-standing and can be used to hold samples while they are prepared for loading. Samples can also be loaded directly into the AccuBlock™ Mini without the AccuRack™.

A broad temperature range to 150° C makes Labnet's Digital Dry Baths useful for a variety of applications in molecular biology, histology, clinical, environmental and industrial laboratories. Although the price of these baths is comparable to analog models, they feature microprocessor control and digital setting/display of temperature. Digital performance at analog prices.

Microprocessor Control

A microprocessor regulates the high wattage heaters in the baths to provide precise, accurate control. The exact desired temperature is easily set using the arrow keys on the sloped control panel while values are shown on the large digital display. No checking of a thermometer and readjusting temperature is necessary. The user calibration feature allows for easy calibration to in house standards when required. Additionally, there is an RS232 port for recording block temperature activity. An available data-logging software package is used to link the unit to a computer.

Stainless Steel Block Chamber

The block chamber of the digital dry baths is constructed of stainless steel, which acts as a heat sink and provides a uniform transfer of heat from the heating elements to the interchangeable blocks. The resulting block uniformity is excellent, ensuring that all samples receive the same temperature treatment regardless of their position in the block.

The new AccuRack™ tube rack has capacity for up to 20 x 1.5 mL, tubes and is designed to work with Labnet's most popular accessory block, the NLD1105A. The rack is self-standing for use as a workstation and can be directly loaded into the block for rapid tube placement and extraction. Insulated handles protect the user from the high block and sample temperatures. The AccuRack™ is safe for use up to 150° C and is autoclavable.

Single and dual block models: Two Digital Dry Bath models are available. The single block unit will accept all of the standard blocks. For increased capacity, the dual block unit accepts two standard blocks or one specially designed dual block. Each dry bath is supplied with a block lifter. Blocks are sold separately from the dry bath unit.
